TAM PAP HPV TEST

The unique technology behind the Tam Pap test was developed by SDS Laboratories to detect Human Papilloma Virus using a DNA molecular analytical process to reveal potential cell changes that can lead to cervical cancer.

The Tam Pap test can simultaneously detect and geno-type high risk strains of HPV using a simple tampon as a collection device. Women can now self-sample for HPV in the privacy of their own home in a safe, non-intrusive, painless and accurate way: the woman will self sample in the privacy of her own home by inserting a tampon into the vaginal canal for a period of ten seconds. The tampon will then be placed in the specimen bag which in turn will be secured within the reply paid envelope after the application of barcodes for identification purposes. The reply paid envelope will be forwarded to the Pathology Laboratory for analysis. Within a two week period, Tam-Pap will mail or digitally transfer the coded woman’s results back to her nominated medical practitioner. Tam-Pap will also notify the woman that her results are available at her medical practitioner’s office.
