TAM PAP HPV TEST

CellScreen’s test product is the Tam Pap test, a novel and unique molecular diagnostic test to detect the presence of Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) within women.

HPV is the most common sexually
acquired virus that infects the skin and the
mucous membranes of human. There are approximately 130 different strains or types known, 15 of which are high risk strains. Some types cause no symptom, some cause warts and some cause cervical cancer.

HPV is the key cause of cervical cancer, being responsible for 99.7% of incidences.

Cervical cancer is most treatable when it is diagnosed and treated early, and the Tam Pap test is a precious tool in the early detection of HPV. As a matter of fact, leading experts worldwide are now recommending HPV testing as the sole primary test for women, with pap smears only for women who test HPV positive (AOGIN Conference 23 June 2007).
